Journey

From a nursery notebook in Aligarh to building for the world.

Every builder has a starting point. Mine had crayons, a chess board and a lot of cricket. Here is the whole story, one stop at a time.

chapter_01 · School

1982 to 1997

Crayons, chess boards and a cricket ball.

I grew up in Aligarh, and school is where I picked up the three things I still love most: making things, thinking a few moves ahead, and playing as a team.

    Raghubir Bal Mandir

Primary schooling, Nursery to Class V · Aligarh

This is where it all began, with a school bag, a pencil box and a nursery notebook I still have. I found my first two loves here, drawing and chess, and I was proud to represent my school in competitions for both.

The sketches got bolder and the chess got sharper, and I kept representing the school in both. Then cricket walked in and never left. Making the school cricket team was my first real lesson in playing for something bigger than myself.

chapter_02 · College and university

1997 to 2004

One door closed, so I built two more.

I always wanted to study computers. When a seat in computer engineering didn’t work out, I didn’t give up on the dream. I took a diploma alongside my maths degree, then went all in with a master’s.

Maths by day, code by evening. Maths gave me a way of thinking in structures that still shows up in how I build products. I also played cricket for the university team, and yes, I got to play against Virender Sehwag before he was picked for India. I still tell that story.

chapter_03 · Career

2004 to 2026

Engineer, then automation, then product.

Nine stops, one thread. I started out writing code for other people’s ideas, fell in love with making things run on their own, and ended up owning products from the first sketch to the final exit.
